As I continue to host neighborhood coffees all over the First District, I enjoy listening to your ideas for Orange County. I appreciate everyone who came out over the last week and made their voices heard! Over the last week coffees were held in:

• North East Santa Ana Neighborhood
• Plavan Neighborhood
• Washington Neighborhood
• Garden Grove Neighborhood

We covered policy areas the County is responsible for including public transit, infrastructure, and addressing homelessness. I spoke at length about how expanding access to effective mental health services and creating more permanent supportive and affordable housing are vital components in addressing homelessness.

Over the next three weeks, I'm hosting six more neighborhood coffees so we can work together to make OC a stronger community! The response to these neighborhood coffees, thus far, has been great. The stories you share and issues you bring up help to inform me on priorities I should focus on as your County Supervisor

Congratulations to my staff member Jack, who graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from UC Riverside! Jack began working in my office as an intern, after a few months, his hard work and dedication proved to be a critical part of my team. Congratulations to Luis Mier and Carlos Muniz on the grand opening of you new business, Excellence Empire Real Estate, in Santa Ana! The celebration had a great turnout and a mariachi band. Small businesses are the foundation of strong communities and a vibrant economy. Best of luck with your new venture, thanks for bringing your business to OC!

Last week, Saint Anne’s Catholic School hosted their annual Fun Day at Memorial Park. Each year on the last day of school, students have a fun-filled day with a DJ, games, and other activities!

I gave special recognition to long-time Administrative Assistant, Patricia Gonzalez, for her commitment and devotion to the St. Anne’s kids, families, and community. Congratulations on a successful year to all of the students and faculty!
