86 New Affordable Housing Units in Orange County

86 Affordable Housing units are coming to Orange County!

The County of Orange joined forces with the City of Santa Ana on the Crossroads at Washington project using two adjacent lots that have been vacant for over thirty years. This project is a great example of collaboration between the city and the county.

The supportive housing units in this Project are part of the 2,700 permanent supportive housing units identified in the Housing Funding Strategy to address housing needs for senior individuals and households experiencing homelessness.

65 Supportive Housing Units in Westminster

Last Wednesday, the Meta Housing Corporation broke ground on the Westminster Crossing project. This project will provide 65 units of permanent supportive housing with wraparound services in the City of Westminster!

I’m proud that the County of Orange committed over $3.7 million through federal and mental health funding and provided 20 housing vouchers.

OC Continues to Support the Elderly and Disabled with the Restaurant Meals Program

The Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) is an optional program that helps eligible elderly, disabled, and homeless CalFresh recipients purchase prepared meals at participating restaurants using their EBT cards.

In 2018, the OC Social Services Agency launched a pilot version of the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) in Santa Ana and Anaheim. After a successful launch, the Board of Supervisors approved to expand the program countywide.

Lat year, over 85,000 RMP transactions were completed in Orange County with a total of $889,000 in revenues generated for local businesses.

This is one example of how Orange County is helping our residents have access to food.
