Close to 50,000 people turned out at Mile Square Park last weekend to ring in the Year of the Dragon at the 2024 OC Tet Festival, hosted by Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do.

For the ninth year in a row, our OC Tet Festival continues to be a remarkable success, bringing our community together as we celebrate the Lunar New Year, one of our community’s most important holidays.

The Lunar New Year is marked by traditions that vary across cultures. Some commonalities include gathering with family and friends, honoring elders and ancestors, and participating in traditional dances and other cultural activities, such as eating auspicious foods.

In Orange County, nearly one-quarter of our community is of Asian descent, with the majority from Vietnam. Little Saigon, which covers Westminster, Garden Grove, and Santa Ana, is home to the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam.

Every year, we’re proud to welcome thousands of people from across the country and around the world to join Orange County in celebration of the Lunar New Year. We’re very excited to share our traditions with our friends and neighbors.

The three-day outdoor festival, co-sponsored with Orange County Parks, featured a wide array of Vietnamese food, talented entertainers, cultural performances, carnival rides, lion dances, and a spectacular firecracker display.

Tet embodies key elements of the Vietnamese identity, cultural heritage, and a deeper connection with the community. By hosting our annual Tet Festival, we’re keeping important traditions alive and inspiring the next generation to connect with their heritage.
