| Supervisor Spitzer Honors Our Veterans |
|
(Santa Ana) - Supervisor Spitzer honored our veterans at Fairhaven Memorial Park’s 21st annual Memorial Day service.
“Our veterans make us a free nation and people,” Spitzer said. “And, for that, we are forever grateful.”
The ceremony included vintage air-force planes flying over in salute of our veterans and brief words of remembrance by keynote speaker Colonel Kim, recipient of the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service and Army commendation. |

| OC Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony |

(Tustin) – The 2013 Orange County Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Orange County Sherriff’s Regional Training Academy in Tustin. Supervisor Spitzer presented the Resolution on behalf of the Board of Supervisors at the event.
This year’s ceremony was held for the first time at the new monument that was erected in honor of the fifty-two (52) law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty in Orange County.

“We are able to be here today because there were individuals who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our safety,” Spitzer said. “Their acts live on for perpetuity, and, for that, we are remembering them today and always.”
The new Monument erected at the Orange County Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy is a memorial with walls of honor, history walls, water features, life-size bronze statuary, as well as appropriate areas for rest and reflection. The new Monument includes a prominent path approaching the monument, the “Walk of Heroes.” |
