| Pet Adoption Event on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20 |

Supervisor Todd Spitzer is pleased to announce a free pet adoption weekend for March 19-20. The event will be held at the OC Animal Shelter located at 561 The City Drive South, Orange, CA 92868 during the OC Animal Shelter’s normal working business hours from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
“I am really excited and pleased to announce this free pet adoption! This is a great opportunity for the pets in the shelter to be rescued and to go to great homes. Please come out and support this event and bring home a new family member,” said Supervisor Spitzer.
The event will feature free pet adoption, a savings of $89 to $124, but adopters will still need to pay the microchip fee of $17 and the licensing fee of $27. |

 The 5th Annual Leprechaun Leap 5K takes place on Sunday March 13, 2016 and includes running through the hangar.
The 5k course is fast and fun and welcomes everyone! Register as an Individual or as a Team. Awards will be given for the fastest times and best costume! Post-race festivities include an expo throughout Tustin Legacy, including great entertainment and awards ceremony.
The Leprechaun Leap 5K is organized by the Tustin Chamber of Commerce. A portion of the proceeds benefits The OC Rescue Mission’s Veteran Projects and other local charities through the Tustin Community Foundation.

Supervisor Todd Spitzer was the featured speaker at the Foothills Community Association Annual Membership Meeting. Supervisor Spitzer gave an update on the Third District and the County. He discussed the issues of transportation, weed abatement and public safety. Supervisor Spitzer also addressed significant “soft on crime measures” that are causing increases in crime rates.
Representatives from the Orange County Fire Authority, OC Sheriff’s Department, OC Public Works and OC Parks attended to answer questions from the community and to share information on how to access county services. |

The County of Orange Health Care Agency is accepting applications now through April 15, 2016 for seven seats on the CalOptima Board of Directors. Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett and Supervisor Andrew Do serve as the representatives for the Board of Supervisors on the CalOptima Board of Directors. Supervisor Todd Spitzer is the alternate member.
A county-organized health system, CalOptima serves more than 770,000 low-income children, adults, seniors and persons with disabilities. CalOptima was formed in 1995 in response to a healthcare system that was struggling to meet the needs of vulnerable Orange County residents. Today, CalOptima has grown to be the second largest health insurer in Orange County, but stayed true to its mission of providing members with access to quality health care services.
The Health Care Agency is seeking applicants who represent the diverse backgrounds, interests and demographics of Orange County residents and have the experience and expertise to govern a public healthcare system.
