Food Distribution Event
My team and I had a wonderful time this past Saturday at the Food Distribution Event in partnership with Assemblywomen Sharon Quirk-Silva, Senator Josh Newman and United Across Borders Foundation. Families received various foods, household items, toys and resources. Special thanks to everyone that came out to join us and make this a successful event for the community.

2022 Holiday Open House
We were overjoyed by the community turnout at our 2022 Holiday Open House at the new County Administrative North (CAN) building! Residents, local business owners, nonprofit representatives, union leaders, elected officials, and members of our County family took the opportunity to meet with me and my Supervisor colleagues and see our new offices. In addition, I provided tamales, pastries, and agua frescas from vendors in the Fourth District. Thank you to our vendors, including Tlaquepaque Restaurant, and our photographer, Donna Edman, for helping to make the event a success.

City Council & School Board Member Recognitions

Throughout the month of December, my staff and I have recognized city council members and school board members who are retiring from their elected positions, as well as congratulating local officials who have been re-elected and newly elected in the Fourth District. Former Councilman Glen Parker accepted a certificate of recognition from my Field Representative, Adriana Fairow, for his years of service on the Brea City Council. Glen was first elected to the Brea City Council in 2014. Former Councilmember Dr. Beth Swift accepted a certificate of recognition from my Field Representative, Jesus Gaona-Perez. She dedicated the last 10 years to serving the Buena Park community on the City Council from 2012 – 2022, serving as Mayor twice in 2013 and 2017. Former Mayor Sunny Park accepted a certificate of recognition for her service to the City of Buena Park from my Field Representative, Jesus Gaona-Perez. Sunny was elected to the Buena Park City Council on 2018. Former Councilmember Jesus Silva accepted a certificate of recognition from my Field Representative, Adriana Fairow. Jesus was first elected to the Fullerton City Council in 2016. He was elected to a full four-year term representing District 3 in 2018 and served as Mayor in 2019. Ambassador Paulette Chaffee and I joined Former Councilmember Craig Green at his retirement celebration. Following 4 years as City Treasurer, Craig was elected to the Placentia City Council in 2014 and served as Mayor Pro Tem in 2016 and as Mayor in 2017 and 2021. Former Anaheim Union High School District President, and my Deputy Chief of Staff, Al Jabbar accepts a certificate of recognition for his years of service on the AUHSD Board of Trustees. Al was appointed to the Board in January 2013. With his election in 2014, Al became the first Sri Lankan-American to hold public office in the United States. He was re-elected to the AUHSD Board of Trustees in 2018. Trustee Jessica Guerrero, who also serves as my Policy Advisor, accepted a certificate from me in recognition of her recent election to the AUHSD Board of Trustees in Area 1.

Operation Santa Clause & Senior Santa and Friends
Our County of Orange Social Services Agency is hosting Operation Santa Claus (OSC) & Senior Santa and Friends (SSF) this holiday season. OSC provides gifts and toys to children who are in foster care in Orange County as well as to children of disadvantaged families. Last year, OSC distributed more than 19,000 toys and gifts to children in need. SSF also provides gifts and special request items such as household appliances, special medical equipment, nutritional supplements or clothing to low-income seniors or severely disabled adults who are clients of the Orange County Social Services Agency and/or the OC Health Care Agency. Last year, SSF provided over 1,115 gifts and necessities to low-income seniors and adults with disabilities in Orange County. Support from generous donors helped the programs exceed last year’s goal of raising $30,000. This year organizers are hoping to raise $35,000 in total donations by the end of this year. Orange County residents can support Operation Santa Claus and Senior Santa and Friends by: - Donating new and unwrapped toys at the collection boxes placed in many County buildings, including most County libraries.
- In addition, Orange County residents may also drop off toys and other gifts at the OSC and SSF drop-off center at 1505 E. Warner Ave., Santa Ana, CA 92705.
- Gifts may also be shipped to 1505 E. Warner Ave., G-101, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
- Giving back by coordinating an Angel Tag toy/gift drive for a child or senior in need of a holiday present.
- Donating online at:
- Operation Santa Clause
- Senior Santa and Friends
