RECORDER RECORD

South County Branch Office Celebrates Six Years of Success

More than 160,000 customers have used the convenient South County branch office of the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department since it opened in February, 2006, including nearly 9,000 couples who have married there.

The branch office is located in the Laguna Hills Civic Center at 24031 El Toro Road. The office is easy to find, just off the Santa Ana (I-5) Freeway and El Toro Road, across the street from the Laguna Hills Mall. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with ample free parking.

Previously, customers had to drive to the department’s main office in downtown Santa Ana for copies of birth and death certificates, marriage licenses and to record property documents. The convenient Laguna Hills office has saved South County customers about 5 million driving miles since it opened.

Providing services closer to home is popular with customers. More than 25,000 wedding licenses have been issued from the Laguna Hills branch office, as well as nearly 158,000 copies of vital records and 20,000 fictitious business name statements. More than 18,000 documents have been recorded there.
