Last week, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released new guidance for the reopening of additional sectors of economies in jurisdictions like Orange County that have already submitted an attestation and received approval to move deeper into Stage 2 of the State's Resilience Roadmap. I applaud California Governor Gavin Newsom for continuing to reopen our state in a way that is both safe and necessary for our residents and economy Here are the guidelines:

“A Road to a Better Future” Car Show Scholarship Award
Every year, Carlos Quezada and Frankie Gonzalez, coordinate “A Road to a Better Future” car show that awards scholarships to outstanding seniors at Segerstrom High School. This year’s car show was canceled, due to COVID-19, but I was proud to sponsor a scholarship that went to Abigail Margo, who will be attending San Francisco State University this Fall. Congratulations, we’re all rooting for you!

June 13 – OC Animal Care Pet Food Pantry
This Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., OC Animal Care will be kicking off the Family Fur-st Drive-Thru Pet Pantry to support Orange County families in need of pet food. The Family Fur-st Pet Food Pantry events will take place on the second Saturday of every month while food is available, and the need is still present in the community. The financial burden suffered by many people because of COVID-19 has made it very difficult for people to feed and provide for their pets. The goal of the drive-thru pantry is to support Orange County residents and make it easier for them to hopefully keep their pets and not give them up for financial reasons.
