I am honored to have been chosen as Chair for the second time. As Chair, I will continue to develop new initiatives focused on addressing healthcare, homelessness, and public safety. I look forward to working with my fellow Supervisors to advance policies that enhance the well-being and safety of our residents. It has been a pleasure to serve as Vice Chairman with former Chairman Wagner, and I would like to thank him for his leadership and service as Chair these last 2 years. Together, we can make Orange County a safe, healthy, and fulfilling place to live, work, and play– now and for generations to come.

Last week I had the pleasure to attend the City of La Habra's Centennial Celebration event. Marking 100 years as an incorporated city, we were able to look back at the progress and the milestones the city has made. The City unveiled a commemorative mural and displayed historic photos at the event. The event was packed with community members all there to mark this historic moment. Congratulations to the City of La Habra and all of those who have helped contribute to its success. Here's to another 100 years!

Meet and Greet with Fullerton PD Behavioral Health Clinicians
|
 |
Last week, I met with Fullerton Police Department’s (FPD) newest behavioral health clinicians. In July 2023 I provided $1,000,000 in Fourth District Discretionary funds to FPD for the creation of a 2 year pilot of a Police Behavioral Health Clinician program. The funding supported the hiring of two licensed social workers and the purchase of their equipment and vehicles. The clinicians started last year and represent a change in how cities approach policing in the community. By dispatching clinicians alongside or in lieu of police officers, the program ensures that individuals in crisis receive care and assistance. Additionally, the clinicians can implement 5150's. The main goals of the program are to create a healthier community, address and enhance public safety, and focus on improving officer wellbeing. I was pleased to meet the clinicians and engage with the Chief of FPD and staff to discuss the program and its impact. Together we can enhance public safety and provide support to those in crisis.

Hi there, friends! My name is Sierra, and I’m a young Siberian Husky dreaming of finding my forever family. When I first arrived at OC Animal Care with my sister, Sheeba, we were the ultimate duo! Two peas in a fluffy pod! Sheeba found her forever home a couple of weeks ago, and while I miss her so much, I’m so happy for her. Now, I’m crossing my paws that it’s my turn to find a loving family to call my own. Let me tell you three pawsome reasons why I’m the perfect addition to your life! I’m super social! Whether it’s greeting people with kisses and tail wags or making new furry friends, I'm all about love and connection! The more friends, the merrier! I’m super fun! I love running and playing in the yard, and if you have a pool, yay! I love splashing around! Let’s chase the sun, play Marco Polo, and make every day an adventure! I’m loyal and loving! As much as I love to play, I also have a soft spot for cuddles. I’ll be your snuggle buddy, treat enthusiast, and most importantly, your forever best friend. So, what do you say? Are you ready to make your life 100% more husky-tastic? Please call OC Animal Care at (714) 935-6848 and mention my ID number A1866883. Whether you adopt or foster me, I’ll be forever grateful.
