Orange County collects 7,779 pounds on Prescription Drug Take Back Day! |
|
This year I initiated the County’s participation in Prescription Drug Take Back Day in accordance with the DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day on April 30th. The effort was a phenomenal success and unwanted prescription drugs were collected at 25 locations countywide. A total of 7,779 pounds was collected! Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses both public health and public safety concerns. Unwanted drugs are susceptible to misuse and in some cases can be abused. Improper disposal of medication can wreak havoc on the environment and water quality. Following the appropriate disposal of prescription drugs is critical for public health concerns. To see how you can properly dispose of your old prescriptions at home, click here.
Of the 7,779 pounds collected, 2,383 pounds came from South County. See below for the amount collected at each OC Sherriff’s Department collection sites:

TCA: Rental Cars on the Toll Roads |
|
Paying tolls while driving a rental car on The Toll Roads just got easier. TCA has partnered with most major rental car companies to offer rental car drivers three convenient ways to pay tolls.
Tolls can be charged directly through rental car agreements; paid online by pre-registering the vehicle at TheTollRoads.com/RentalTolls; or charged to an account by adding the rental vehicle’s license plate number to an existing FasTrak® or ExpressAccount®.
“With three new convenient payment options, rental car drivers can travel stress-free in and around Orange County,” said Michael A. Kraman, TCA’s CEO. “This is a huge step forward for TCA to improve the tourist and business traveler experience while they visit Orange County and drive The Toll Roads.”
Visitors who rent a car with one of TCA’s rental car partners will no longer need to know The Toll Road they drove and where they entered and exited – which eliminates their chance of receiving a Notice of Toll Evasion after returning the rental vehicle. |
